Kate is a reader and is continually surprised by the way a good story can reflect wholeness. She believes that we were made to tell a good story, but knows that life doesn’t always lend to a seamless narrative. Kate believes in the power of “speaking the unspeakable” parts of our stories in order to invite healing into our darkest places.

In the counseling room, Kate believes that cultivating an attuned and safe relationship between you and her can offer a safe place for telling the hardest parts of your story. For those of you who may feel disconnected from yourself, Kate will come alongside and look inward together with compassion and curiosity in the pursuit of understanding and wholeness. She writes, ”I hope to bear witness as you seek insight and healing, and I want to offer a steady hand to hold the difficult chapters and to cheer with you as you celebrate milestones and pursue self-compassion.”

Kate works from a multi-dimensional framework including narrative and psychodynamic theories. Her goal is to offer a space to bravely look back at the past as you navigate your present, partnering with you to understand your unique identity in the context of your experiences and relationships.  Kate is a trauma-informed counselor who is sensitive to the ways trauma lives in the mind and the body; she feels passionate about integrating mind and body awareness as you pursue healing.

Kate enjoys her local library, trying new restaurants in Atlanta, browsing antique stores with her husband, and practicing yoga.

“I believe that therapy can be a powerful space where presence, collaboration, and honesty work together to foster healing.”.”
