Amanda has spent years in non-profit settings working with adolescents and their families helping them to develop techniques on communication and conflict resolution. This has led to a passion for working alongside clients with a history of trauma, ministry burnout, multicultural counseling, faith and spirituality, and life transitions.

With an attachment-based perspective, Amanda appreciates the deep connection of family and how those roots connect us to who we are.

Amanda has a passion for multicultural counseling. Specifically for those who might associate with the term Third Culture Kids (TCK) or Third Culture Adults. TCKs often find themselves shifting between two cultures, making it difficult to find a sense of identity and belonging. For TCKs, whose sense of home and belonging may be fluid, exploring these attachment patterns can provide valuable insights into experiences and relationships.

Amanda’s approach is collaborative, compassionate, and culturally sensitive. She strives to create a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. Through the work done in counseling is an opportunity to learn more about family dynamics, conflict styles, internal work of identity, boundaries, coping strategies, and resilience.

When not working and finishing school assignments, Amanda enjoys finding new trails for walks and reading a good book in a hammock.

At Steady Hope, our Counseling Interns are closely supervised by an in-house Clinical Supervisor, which means that you benefit from having multiple counselors whose time and expertise are applied to working with you. Amanda is currently under the supervision of Kim DeRamus Lareau LPC, NCC, CPCS. Counseling Interns also offer counseling sessions at a significantly reduced rate.
